Lyndonville, Holley roll to G-R wins

Erupting for five quick runs in the first inning, Lyndonville went on to defeat visiting Elba/Byron-Bergen 11-0 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League baseball game.

Five walks and a two-run single by Dawson Joy highlighted the big first inning for the Tigers.

Eric Neace followed up with a three-run homer in the fourth inning to boost the Tigers advantage to 8-0.

The Tigers tacked on three more runs in the fifth as winning pitcher Zach Johnson had a two-run double and Corey Hydock an RBI double.

Johnson, Joy and Neace each finished with a pair of hits.

On the mound, Johnson allowed only 3 hits and struck out 8.

Now at 4-2 in the league and 8-3 overall, Lyndonville next hosts Attica at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Holley 15, Pembroke 2
Scoring at least twice in each of the first five innings, Holley romped to a 15-2 victory over host Pembroke.

Nick Passarell banged out 4 hits, including a double and triple, and drove in a total of 6 runs for Holley.

Zach Vaccarelli added a pair of hits for the Hawks which improve to 5-3 in G-R action.
