Lyndonville, Holley cagers post wins
Steadily pulling away, Lyndonville posted a 63-45 victory over host Wheatland-Chili this evening to improve to 3-0 in Genesee Region League competition and 5-0 overall.
Nathan Hydock scored 19, Nathan Dillenbeck 15, Nathan Poler and Zach Johnson 11, Russ Stephens 5 and Casey Winiecki 2 for Lyndonville.
Elijah Gissendanner scored 18 and Aaron Lund 17 for W-C.
Lyndonville jumped out to a 16-9 first quarter lead as Hydock scored 9.
The Tigers doubled the lead to 14, 35-21, at the half as Poler tallied 6 and Johnson 5 in the second period.
Lyndonville then broke the contest wide open by outscoring W-C 24-3 in the third period to surge away to a commanding 59-24 advantage at the three-quarter mark. Hydock scored 8 in the period which also featured a dunk by Johnson.
Lyndonville next hosts Elba at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Holley 75, Lima Christian 31
Roaring out to a 20 point, 31-11, half-time advantage, Holley went on to defeat visiting Lima Christian 75-31 to improve to 2-3.
Kohl Morgan poured in a game high 25 points to lead the Hawks as Matt Wilson added 16, Cody Tanis 12 and Matt Skehan 10. Morgan also had 11 rebounds and 6 steals and Wilson 5 assists and 4 steals.
Girls Basketball
Newfane 43, Alden 32
Byron-Bergen 55, Holley 32
Trailing 21-18 at the half, Newfane used a big 19-2 third period scoring surge to key a 43-32 non league win over Alden.
Megan Knoll scored 16 and Lauren Boudeman 10 to lead the way for the Lady Panthers.
Madison Marsh scored 11 points for Holley in the loss to B-B as Olivia Radford and Halee Passarell each added 7.
