Lyndonville grapplers place second at Alexander Tournament

Led by a quartet of individual weight class champions, Lyndonville finished second to Rush-Henreitta at the Alexander Tournament today.

Lyndonville’s quartet of individual champions, who each went 5-0 on the day, included Jeff Gress Jr. (106), Tony Recco (120), Tom Follman (152) and Devin Joy (160) who earned the tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestling award.

The Tigers also had a trio of third place finishers in Cullen Heveron (120), Chris McDonald (138) and Dustin Joy (145).

Lyndonville next visits Attica at 6 p.m. Tuesday in a Genesee Region League match.

At the annual Officals Tournament held at Niagara County Community College, Medina’s Charles Beach placed fifth at 195.

Medina next visits defending champion Newfane at 6 p.m. Wednesday in a Niagara-Orleans League match.
