Lyndonville girls post win over Akron

Moving on top to stay in the second quarter, Lyndonville went on to defeat visiting Akron 42-31 this evening in a non league girls basketball game.

Makenzie Muck scored 15 points and Aubrey Lewis 14 for Lyndonville as Jasmine Plummer added 6, Miranda Lembcke 3 and Anna Lewis and Stacey Buckland 2 each.

Neely Abrams led Akron with 10 points.

Neely hit three threes in the first period to spark Akron out to a narrow 16-14 lead.

Muck countered with 9 points to keep Lyndonville close in the early going.

Muck, Aubrey Lewis and Buckland then each scored a basket in the second period as Lyndonville used a 7-2 scoring edge to rally into a 21-18 lead at the half.

The Lady Tigers upped the advantage a bit to seven, 32-25, at the three-quarter mark as Aubrey Lewis hit a three and Lembcke, Anna Lewis, Plummer and Muck each chipped in with a basket.

Akron could get no closer than seven in the final stanza as Aubrey Lewis had a basket and four free throws and Muck and Plummer both chipped in with a basket to help keep Lyndonville in control.

Lyndonville is now 2-5 on the season.

Attica 69, Holley 21
Olivia Radford scored 9 points and Courtney Winkley 6 for Holley in the Lady Hawks 69-21 Genesee Region League loss at Attica.
