Lyndonville girls edge past Kendall

Improving to 6-1 in the league, Lyndonville trimmed Kendall 5-2 in a Genesee Region softball game this afternoon at Holley.

Breaking away from a 2-2 deadlock, Lyndonville moved on top to stay by scoring once in the fifth inning as Aubrey Lewis tripled and came home on an error.

The Lady Tigers added a pair of insurance runs in the seventh on errors.

Earlier, Lyndonville grabbed a quick run in the first inning as Aubrey Lewis doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Anna Lewis.

However, Kendall answered right back to grab the lead in the home half of the first on a two-run double by Madison Rath.

Lyndonville pulled even at 2-2 in the fourth frame on an RBI single by Cassie Boyce.

Aubrey Lewis finished with a total of 3 hits for the Lady Tigers while Kacey Menge had 2 for the Lady Eagles.

The contest was moved to Holley as neither the Kendall or Lyndonville fields were playable.

Roy-Hart 19, Wilson 5

Front-running Roy-Hart downed Wilson 19-5 this afternoon to improve to 8-1 in Niagara-Orleans League softball competition.

Sam Choate had 5 hits, including a pair of doubles, Kayla Brown 4 and Lexi Lovewell and Maddie Fry 3 each to lead the way for Roy-Hart.

The Lady Rams took charge at the outset scoring 4 times in both the first and second nnings.

The loss drops Wilson to 2-8.

Newfane 7, Albion 4

Newfane improved to 6-2 with a 7-4 victory at Albion as Leeanne Schermerhorn had 3 hits, including a double and triple, Olivia Littman 2 and winning pitcher Cassidy Geise a double.

Isabella Prest had 3 hits for Albion.

Albion rebounded to defeat Barker 19-9 in the second game of the doubleheader.
