Lyndonville girls edge past Elba

Avenging an earlier season 11-2 loss, Lyndonville trimmed Elba 6-4 this afternoon to improve to 10-2 in Genesee Region League softball action and 10-3 overall.

Breaking away from a 4-4 deadlock, Lyndonville scored the decisive 2 runs in the sixth inning as Aubrey Lewis, Miranda Lembcke and Bri Paniccia all banged out doubles.

Lyndonville also scored twice in the fifth frame on a single by Alecia Hinkson and a sacrifice by Ella Lewis as a hit by Cassie Boyce set up the threat.

Earlier, Anna Lewis had an RBI single in the first following a triple by Aubrey Lewis, and Boyce had an RBI double in the third.

Aubrey Lewis, Boyce and Anna Lewis each finished with 3 hits.

Earlier in the afternoon, Lyndonville dropped a narrow 6-5 decision to Oakfield-Alabama, which hosted both games.

Aubrey Lewis, Paniccia, Hinkson and Ella Lewis each had 2 hits for the Lady Tigers.

Lyndonville built up a 5-2 lead as Ella Lewis had a triple in the first inning, Paniccia a two-run single in the third and Aubrey Lewis a two-run single in the fourth.

A three-run fifth inning scoring burst earned Oakfield-Alabama a 3-1 win over visiting Lyndonville which had just 5 hits on the day.

Lyndonville is now 9-2 in the league and 13-2 overall.

Holley 8, Pembroke 3
A 5 run fourth inning scoring burst, highlighted by a two-run single by Mike Passarell, keyed Holley to an 8-3 win over Pembroke.
