Lyndonville girls claim Minors Div. titles

Compiling a perfect 10-0 record, the Lyndonville minors softball team (ages 9-11) has captured both the regular season and playoff tournament championships in the Minors Division of the Lyndonville, Medina, Roy-Hart, and Somerset Softball League.

The Tigers went 8-0 during the regular season to earn the No. 1 seed for the playoffs where they went 2-0 to claim the title.

The Tigers earned a bye in the first round after earning the top seed. They defeated Somerset #1 in the semi-finals 15-2 and then nipped Medina # 1 team in the championship game, earning a narrow victory by a score of 10-9 in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Home field advantage was key to the win, as the Tigers utilized their final at bat to break away from a tie. Morgan Woodworth had the game winning hit scoring Dixie Nowicki for the go ahead run to clinch the title.
