Lyndonville downs Roy-Hart to regain share of Midget ‘A’ lead

Lyndonville posted an 8-2 victory over visiting Roy-Hart this evening to regain a share of first place in the Lockport Midget ‘A’ League.

Lyndonville and Medina are now deadlocked for first place at 7-3.

Lyndonville jumped out to a big seven run lead in the first two innings. Singles by Dominic DiCureia and Michael Wells highlighted a three-run first inning while doubles by Brandon Schoolcraft, Wells and Ty Hrovat keyed a four run second inning uprising.

Wells finished with three hits as Schoolcraft, DiCureia and Hrovat each had two.

Justin Edwards picked up the win on the mound striking out five.

Defensively, Hrovat and DiCureia teamed up with Chris Scroger to turn a double play in the sixth inning.

Roy-Hart’s two runs came in the seventh inning as Ryan Metz and Austin Heschke had singles.

Midget B

Medina 3, Roy-Hart 1 2
Scoring two quick runs in the first inning, Medina went on to edge past Roy-Hart 1 by a narrow 3-2 margin at Gasport this evening in a Lockport Midget ‘B’ League game.

A two out, two-run double by Tyler Ames plated the runs for Medina after an error and a single by Tyler Howard set up the threat.

Medina’s only other run came on a bases loaded walk in the fifth inning. Two more walks and a hit batter loaded the bases to set up the opportunity.

Quentin Adkins picked up the win on the mound for Medina allowing five hits and striking out seven.

Medina improves to 4-3 and Roy-Hart 1 slips to 3-4.
