Pounding out 20 hits, Lyndonville defeated host Oakfield 17-7 Thursday evening to close out the Tri County Midget League regular season at 7-3.

Lyndonville then began to pull away by tacking on 3 more runs in the fifth frame.

Roman Heinsler picked up the win on the mound allowing 6 hits and striking out 13.

Lyndonville next will host a quarterfinal round playoff game on Tuesday.

Alexander 5, Albion 2
Capitalizing on a rash of errors, host Alexander handed Albion its first loss 5-2 Thursday evening.

Albion did grab a 2-0 lead in the first inning on 3 walks, a wild pitch and a fielders choice play but could not add to the advantage.

Errors helped Alexander score once in the first inning and then twice in both the third and fifth frames.

Albion had only 2 hits on the evening, a double by Drew Caldwell and a single by Kyle Woolston.

Now at 8-1, Albion will begin playoff competition on Tuesday.
