Lyndonville cagers top Byron-Bergen

Rallying into the lead for good in the third quarter, Lyndonville went on to defeat host Byron-Bergen 58-49 this evening in a Genesee Region League game.

Nathan Poler and Zach Johnson each scored 19 points to lead the Lyndonville attack as Kane Flynn added 10, Nathan Dillenbeck 6 and Matt Hess 4.

Joshua Hohn and Chad Green each scored 11 to lead Byron-Bergen.

Rallying from deficits of 17-9 after one period and 29-27 at the half, Lyndonville used a 16-5 third period scoring surge to take the lead for good by a 43-34 margin at the three-quarter mark.  Poler tallied 7 in the second period and 6 in the third.

The Tigers then put a lock on the win as Johnson made good on 9 of 12 free throw attempts and Flynn chipped in with 5 points down the stretch.

Lyndonville, which is now 3-4 in G-R action, next visits Oakfield-Alabama on Friday.

Pembroke 74, Kendall 34
Pembroke used a big 22-7 second period scoring edge to open up a 34-19 half-time advantage keying a 74-34 victory over host Kendall in a G-R game.

Reid Miano scored 15 and Lucas Kohorst 14 to lead Pembroke which improves to 10-0.

Nate Warters and Hunter Menze both scored 8 for Kendall. Menze also had 8 rebounds and Mickey Gardner 7.

In one other G-R game Notre Dame downed Holley 62-38.
