Lyndonville cagers down W-C

Jumping out to a 16 point first quarter lead, Lyndonville went on to defeat visiting Wheatland-Chili 60-34 this evening to close out the Genesee Region League season.

Corey Hydock hit four threes to help spark Lyndonville out to a 22-6 first period lead.

The Tigers boosted the advantage to 21, 36-14, at the half as Jacob Hoffee and Josh Tombari both scored 4 and Hydock and Eric Neace 3 in the second period.

Keeping the momentum, Lyndonville maintained a 22 point, 47-25, lead at the three-quarter mark after getting 5 from Neace and 3 from both Hoffee and Dylan Nicholson in the third period.

W-C did pull to within 13, 47-34, early in the final period after a burst of three threes by Joe Bordonard but would get no closer.

The Tigers answered with a jumper by Hess, a three by Hydock and two free throws by Neace to quickly regain a 20 point, 54-34 advantage. Threes by Brody Brown and Luke Isaacson then capped off the win as the Tigers finish the regular season at 6-8 in the league and 9-11 overall.
