Lyndonville cagers best Byron-Bergen

Leading from wire-to-wire, Lyndonville posted a 70-53 victory over visiting Byron-Bergen this evening in a Genesee Region League boys basketball game.

Nathan Dillenbeck scored a game high 23 points for Lyndonville as Noah Poler added 15, Russell Stephens 14, Casey Winiecki 9, Anthony Moule 5 and Trenton Muck 3.

Jerrod Amesbury led Byron-Bergen with 18.

Lyndonville jumped out to a 21-7 first quarter lead as Poler and Dillenbeck each hit a three and a two and Stephens chipped in with three baskets.

The Bees did cut the deficit to three with 2.5 seconds to go in the second quarter but Moule answered right back with a huge three in the final second to give the Tigers a 35-29 lead at the half.

The Tigers opened up an 11 point, 49-38, advantage at the end of the third period which saw Winiecki, Poler and Dillenbeck each score four points.

Dillenbeck then scored 10 and Poler 5 in the final stanza to help the Tigers lock up the win.

Lyndonville is now 3-2 in G-R competition.

Alexander 67, Holley 36

Building  up a 37-23 halftime advantage, Alexander went on to defeat Holley 67-36 in another G-R contest.

Nicholas Kramer scored 19 and Devin Dean 17 to lead the way for Alexander.

Broek Ostrom netted 12 and Mason Neale 10 for Holley.
