Lyndonville ‘9’ trims Alexander

Kendall, Holley also score G-R wins

Turning back a last inning uprising, Lyndonville edged past Alexander 3-1 this afternoon boosting the Tigers record to 4-0 in Genesee Region League action and 6-0 overall.

In other G-R action, Kendall defeated Pembroke 6-1 and Holley downed Byron-Bergen 5-1 boosting both the Eagles and Hawks to 2-0 in league competition.

Trailing 3-0, Alexander rallied for a run in the bottom of the seventh on three hits and still had runners at second and third but Justin Edwards came on in relief to notch two clutch strikeouts and preserve Lyndonville’s win.

Chris Scroger picked up the win on the mound for the Tigers allowing six hits and striking out three over the first six and one-third innings.

Lyndonville scored once in the second on an error and an RBI single by Evan Milleville.

The Tigers later scored what proved to be the deciding two runs in the sixth on a lead-off home run by AJ Buckland and an RBI sacrifice fly by Milleville.

Ty Hrovat had two hits on the day for the Tigers.

Kendall 6, Pembroke 1
Alex Sutphen hurled a two hitter with 14 strikeouts to lead Kendall to a 6-1 G-R victory over Pembroke.

Kendall broke the game open with a three run third inning highlighted by a two-run double by Richie Swift and an RBI sacrifice by Garret Love.

Mookie Nauden had two hits for Kendall.

Holley 5, Byron-Bergen 1
Brandon Weaver struck out 12 and scattered six hits to lead Holley past Byron-Bergen 5-1.

The Hawks took charge at the outset scoring four quick runs in the first inning on a two-run single by Joey DeFelice and an RBI single by Luke Silvis.

Silvis and Sam Lammes both had two hits on the day.
