LUMC rallies to tie KofC in softball
Hurricanes down 12 Fillies
Lyndonville United Methodist Church rallied for three runs in the sixth inning to earn a 5-5 tie with Knights of Columbus this week in youth softball action.
Lily Joe Carpenter and Sophia Weber both hit solo home runs and Shelby Boring had an RBI single in the sixth to pull LUMC even. Weber also had an RBI single in the first inning as did Boring in the third.
Lorelei Sanders and Carpenter also both finished with 2 hits and Haley Shaffer 1.
Shaffer shutout KofC in the bottom of the sixth with 3 strikeouts.
12U Fillies downed by Hurricanes
The Medina 12U Fillies lost 7-2 to the Mel Ott Hurricanes on Wednesday.
Micaela Irway had 2 hits for the Fillies as Chloe Stinson and Camri King each had 1.
Brooklyn Brown struck out 4 and allowed only 2 runs in her pitching debut.
Lexi Hare took home the “Tuff Cookie” Award for being hit by a pitch in the first inning.
The Fillies next visit the Amherst Thunder on May 28.
