Lockport used a big late inning scoring burst to earn a 5-0 victory over Roy-Hart 1 this evening in the opening game of the Lockport Midget ‘B’ League’s best two out of three playoff championship series.

Leading by a narrow 1-0 margin, Lockport erupted for four runs on four hits in the sixth inning to put a lock on the game. Lockport had managed just two hits off Roy-Hart 1 pitcher Aaron Metz up until that point.

Joe Nolan had the only hit for Roy-Hart 1 which was unable to get anything going offensively.

Roy-Hart 1 will now host Lockport at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Gasport in the second game.

If a third game is necessary it is scheduled to be played on Monday at Outwater Park in Lockport.
