Local quintet earns All-WNY football honors

Five local players have earned spots on the annual All-Western New York football squad.

Undefeated (5-0) B East Division champion Medina/Lyndonville has placed junior receiver Jalin Cooper on the second team and senior defensive back Lucas Porter on the third team as senior running back Jake Cotter and senior lineman Tyler Howard both received Honorable Mention.

Albion senior running back Tommy Mattison also earned Honorable Mention.

Cooper had a team leading total of 1,213 all purpose yards and 16 touchdownson the season. He had 403 yards rushing with 7 TDs and 339 yards receiving with 6 TDs.

Porter had a team leading 6 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries and 55 tackles.

Howard was in on a team leading 79 tackles and also had 5.5 sacks.

Cotter had a total of 1,129 all purpose yards including 829 rushing and 8 touchdowns. On defense, he had 4 sacks.

Mattison, who was named the B East Offensive Player of the Year, rushed for 1,086 yards and scored 12 touchdowns. He also had 31 tackles on defense.
