ALBION – The Lake Country Pennysaver is not among the five Pennysaver publications that closed at the end of the year in Western New York.

The Pennysavers that closed are owned by RW Publications. It published WNY Pennysavers in the following locations: Akron/Corfu, East Aurora/Elma, Hamburg, Orchard Park and West Seneca.

The local Lake Country Pennysaver has a circulation of about 20,000 weekly copies throughout Orleans County, Elba in Genesee County, and Middleport and Barker in Niagara County.

The Pennysaver is owned by Karen Sawicz, who also is owner and publisher of OrleansHub.com. She said having both the print and online publications has worked well, helping both publications.

The Lake Country Pennysaver has been family and locally owned since 1960. The Pennysaver has an office at 170 North Main Street, Albion, N.Y.

“Our dedication has always been, and will continue to be, to the communities of Orleans County, northern Genesee County and eastern Niagara County,” Sawicz said.
