Local netters bow in Section V class finals
Holley’s Cavan Bennage and the Kendall doubles duo of Josh Esposito and Jonathan Esposito lost in the Class finals of the Section V tennis tournament today.
Bennage lost to Sean Hogan of East Rochester 6-4, 2-6, 3-6 in the Class B2 singles finals. He advanced to the finals by scoring three victories by pro set scores of 10-1, 10-7 and 10-1.
The Espositos lost in the B3 doubles final to the Caledonia-Mumford duo of Garret Thompson and Oliver Johnson in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. They gained a spot in the finals with a pair of pro set wins by scores of 10-2 and 10-9.
