Local NCCC cagers earn All Region honors

Two local members of the Niagara Community College women’s basketball team, Roy-Hart graduate Jesse DeWaters and Medina grad Alba Perez, have earned spots on the Region III All-Star squad.

DeWaters, who averaged 11.6 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists per game, has been named to the second team.

Perez, who averaged 8.6 rebounds and 7.8 points is a third team selection. She has also been named to the Region III All-Tournament team.

NCCC also had the Region III Player of the Year in Jaclyn Welch who averaged 18.7 points, as well as a first team All-Star selection in Kristen Ripson who averaged 16.9 points and 11.6 rebounds.

In addition, NCCC Coach Nate Beutel, a Starpoint High grad, was honored as Region III Coach of the Year.
