Local golfers earn G-R All-Star honors

A trio of local golfers have earned spots on the annual Genesee Region League All-Star team.

Heading the trio is Kendall sophomore Evan Gaesser who won the G-R All-League tournament with a score of 70. He went on to first win the Class C title at the Section V Tournament and then to place fifth at the Super sectionals to earn a spot on the Section V team which competed at the state championship.

The Eagles are also represented by freshman Jacob Adams who placed sixth at the G-R Tournament and also advanced to the sectional tourney.

Lyndonville senior Patrick Hinkson, who competes as a team of one during the regular season, placed second at the G-R Tournament with a score of 71 and likewise qualified to compete in the sectional tournament.

Gaesser and Hinkson are both repeat G-R All-Stars.

The remainder of the G-R All-Star team includes Drew Morabito and Ben Warner from Notre Dame, Ian Brotherton from Attica and Matt Genaway from Alexander.

Notre Dame captured the regular season G-R title while Kendall took top honors at the All-League Tournament.
