Local duo on SUNY Niagara diamond squad
Contributed Photos – The roster of the SUNY Niagara baseball team this season includes two local players, Medina graduate Aidan Paul, left, and Roy-Hart’s Gavyn Boyle, both sophomores. Paul, a pitcher, got his season off to a strong start registering 10 strikeouts and allowing no earned runs over five innings in a 13-2 win over Jackson College. He was a second team All Western New York Athletic Conference selection last spring. He had a 5-1 record on the mound and two saves notching 59 strikeouts and compiling a 2.27 earned run average. Boyle, an outfielder, was a first team All-WNY Athletic Conference honoree. He hit .395 with 14 doubles, 8 home runs and 57 runs batted in.
