Local duo helps NCCC to tourney title

Niagara County Community College’s women’s basketball team defeated Durham, Ontario 79-58 today to capture the Genesee Community College Cougar Classic championship.

Albion High graduate Tanisha Moyer scored 23 points and grabbed off 7 rebounds and Roy-Hart grad Jesse DeWaters had 14 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds to help spark the attack for undefeated (13-0) NCCC which is ranked No. 17 in the nation.

Merrick Rowland shared game high honors for NCCC with 23 points.

DeWaters and Rowland were both named to the All-Tournament team.
