Local duo helps NCCC cagers capture tournament title

Albion High graduate Tanisha Moyer and Roy-Hart grad Jesse DeWaters helped the Niagara Community College women’s basketball team claim the championship at the Tom D’Angelo Classic at Jamestown CC today.

DeWaters had 14 points and 6 assists and Moyer 8 points for NCCC which defeated Lorain, Ohio Community College in the title contest. Jaclyn Welch also netted 11 points and Tamia Jones 10 for the Lady Thunderwolves.

In NCCC’s 86-44 semifinal round victory over Westmoreland Community College on Friday, Moyer took game high honors with 17 points and also had 6 rebounds and four assists while DeWaters added 7 points and 5 assists. Welch shared game high honors with 17 points.

The two victories improve NCCC’s record to 10-0.
