Contributed Photo – Each week during this past fall’s football season the Buffalo Bills and ADPRO Sports honored a high school Coach of the Week. Two local coaches, Albion’s David Skrip, left, and Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville’s Joe Suhr were two of the recipients of that honor. They are shown here at at today’s Bills game where all of the coaches who were honored last fall were recognized. Suhr was honored as the Section VI Coach of the Week after week 1 of the season which saw his Silverbacks squad defeated Alden 22-20. Skrip was selected Section VI Coach of the Week after week 8 when his Purple Eagles edged archrival and previously undefeated Medina 26-20. That win was the sixth in a row for the Purple Eagles and the first loss after seven straight wins for the Mustangs. Both coaches are also very active in the community. Skrip and his varsity players run a Big Brother program where the players provide guidance to and act as mentors for the younger students. Suhr is very active in the Madison Nation program which is a charity that raises money for families that have children battling pediatric cancer.
