Local cage matchups will highlight week

Holley will visit Medina on Monday and Lyndonville will host Kendall Wednesday to highlight the upcoming week of local girls basketball competition.

Medina is 2-0 on the young season while Kendall is 1-1 and Lyndonville and Holley 0-2.

In local boys basketball matchups, Lyndonville will host Roy-Hart on Tuesday and Holley will visit Roy-Hart on Friday in the opening round of the Rams Tournament.

The contest with R-H will be Lyndonville’s season opener while Holley will visit Alexander Monday in a season opening Genesee Region League game.

The season’s first Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball game will have Barker hosting Akron on Tuesday. Barker is 2-0 to date against non league foes.

N-O wrestling competition begins Wednesday with defending champion Newfane at Albion, Akron at Medina and Wilson at Barker/Roy-Hart.
