Lew-Port tops R-H for Class B state berth

Jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first 20 minutes, Lew-Port went on to defeat Roy-Hart 5-1 in the Section VI Class B girls soccer state qualifier game this evening at Williamsville East.

Sarah Woods and Natalie Schuey each scored two goals in the first half which ended with Lew-Port up 4-0. Sophie Auer, who assisted on all of the first half goals, scored herself in the second half to put Lew-Port up 5-0.

Kaitlyn Mettler scored Roy-Hart’s goal with 15 minutes to go in the second half.

Lew-Port advanced to the contest by capturing the Class B1 championship with a 5-0 win over City Honors.

Roy-Hart gained a berth by outlasting Fredonia 4-2 in a shootout in the Class B2 final.

Lew-Port advances to the regionals with a 15-1-1 record while Roy-Hart finishes the season at 12-2-2.
