PUBLIC NOTICE: Hemlock Ridge Solar LLC

On April 11, 2024, Hemlock Ridge Solar LLC (“Hemlock Ridge Solar”) submitted an application to the New York State Public Service Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity under Section 68 of the Public Service Law. Hemlock Ridge Solar is requesting an Order to authorize the entity, Hemlock Ridge Solar LLC, to own and operate the Hemlock Ridge Solar Project an approximately 200 MW solar powered and energy storage electric generation facility, to be located in the Towns of Barre and Shelby, Orleans County, New York (“Facility”).  Hemlock Ridge Solar also seeks an order providing for lightened regulation. Hemlock Ridge Solar has obtained a Siting Permit on September 22, 2022, pursuant to Section 94-c of the New York Executive Law from the New York State Office of Renewable Energy Siting (“ORES”), based on an application filed with ORES on July 20, 2021 in a separate proceeding to construct the Hemlock Ridge Solar Project in the Towns of Barre and Shelby, Orleans County, New York (the “Project” or “Facility”).   

Hemlock Ridge Solar LLC has requested no hearing be required and the petition for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity be determined on the basis of the Petition, attachments thereto and the material provided to ORES, Matter No. 21-00748.

Any person seeking to comment on the Petition for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity should notify in writing, within 10 days of the date of the publication of this Notice, the Secretary of the Public Service Commission at Agency Building 3, Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY 12223, of the reasons for the opposition. Any comments should reference Case Number 24-E-0228.
