The leaves are changing colors in Orleans County. We’re in the early part of fall foliage. The top photo shows trees last week at Boxwood Cemetery in Medina.

This photo from today shows trees along the Erie Canal in Albion, just east of the Ingersoll Street bridge.

Many of the leaves near the Ingersoll Street bridge have turned from green to yellow.

The statewide “I LOVE NY Fall Foliage Report” came out on Thursday and shows peak fall colors in the Adirondacks, with near-peak leaves to be found throughout most of the upper Catskills, plus parts of the Chautauqua-Allegheny, Thousand Islands-Seaway, and Finger Lakes regions.

The report says Genesee County is about 20% change with primarily red leaves. “In Orleans County, spotters in Albion expect foliage to be nearing midpoint of change with bright shades of red and yellow,” according to the report.
