League play winding down at Hickory Ridge
Things are winding down for the leagues at Hickory Ridge.
Final results for the Ladies Night Out league will be reported next week. This week was led by Aleta Martin’s low gross of 39. Judy Schuth shot a low net of 32. Birdies were had by Martin, Olive Hefron and Paula Knaak.
The standings are Wood and Martin leading with 109 points. Ferguson and Brawn are in second with 97 points and Phister and Passerall hold down third with 94.5,
The Pete Sullivan Sr. Golf League still has a ways to go as they play until the end of September. This week the low gross as had by Geno (Bambino) Ashe who shot close to his age with a 77. Duane Engle, not to be confused with is brother King Bob, was low net with 60.
Closest to the pin on number 6 was Dick Taylor at 12’. Closest second shot on number 2 was John True at 8’1”. Engle had two birdies while Ashe, Jimmy Z, Dana Vosburgh, Rich Wheeler and Steve Novak each posted one.
This week is the second week of the league championships. The results this week will be added to the first week of league championship play which occurred on July 20. Trophies, if they are found as they are missing, will be handed out at the banquet at the end of the season.
It is position round for the Men’s Thursday Traveling League this week. The Championship Round will feature the team of Ben Flansberg and Corey Stalker vs. Scooter Burgess and Guy Eaton.
This past week Scott Budde had low gross of 37. Low net was reported by Brian Payne with a 27. Lots of birdies last week with Budde having two and Stalker, Payne, Dave Cotter, Randy Van Houten, Gabe Nagy, Tim Hallenbeck, Joey Molisani, Gary Marciszewski, Jeff Miller, Dan Hartman and Wayne Thorne each recording one.
