Law enforcement will step up DWI enforcement this weekend
Press Release, Sheriff Chris Bourke
ALBION – Orleans County Sheriff Chris Bourke announced that local law enforcement agencies will actively participate in the STOP-DWI Memorial Day Weekend High Visibility Engagement Campaign from May 27 to May 31.
Memorial Day is one of the busiest travel holidays of the year and marks the official start of summer. Law enforcement agencies and local STOP- DWI programs will collaborate across the state and will be out in force in this coordinated effort to reduce the number of impaired driving-related injuries and deaths, said Bourke, the county’s STOP-DWI Coordinator.
The sheriff urges people to plan a safe way to get home. They could call a sober friend, family member, taxi or Uber.
