Late surge powers Albion past Barker
A big 25 point fourth quarter scoring burst rallied Albion to a 56-40 victory over host Barker this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball game.
Trailing 32-31 after three quarters, the Purple Eagles exploded for a 25-8 surge down the stretch to earn the come-from-behind victory.
Liam Ward scored 10 to lead that Purple Eagles uprising. Deyonci Farley added 4 and Kevin Hillman 3 as four other players each added a bucket.
Farley finished with 14, Ward 13, Hillman 9, Bryce Prtichard and Demetrius Gardner 6, Vincent Zona 4 and Hunter Webster and Brad Sanford 2.
Zach Richbart led Barker with 12 as Malik Smith and Dan Ober both added 6 and Nick Brandt and Preston Harris 4.
Albion jumped out to an 18-14 first period lead but Barker rallied back into a 23-22 advantage at the half.
Albion is now 6-5 and Barker 0-10 in the league.
Roy-Hart 60, Akron 37
Building up a 32-17 half-time advantage, Roy-Hart went on to down visiting Akron 60-37 making it four wins in the last five starts to improve to 5-6 in N-O action.
Jake Bruning led Roy-Hart with 21 as Charlie Bruning added 12, Noah Kindron 10 and Blake Halstead 7.
Derek Holtz had 15 for Akron which slips to 2-8.
