Late surge lifts Thunderwolves past MCC

Breaking away from a 49-49 deadlock, the Niagara County Community College women’s basketball team outscored host Monroe Community College 22-11 in the decisive final period to claim a 71-60 victory this afternoon and remain undefeated at 25-0.

Kenetria Redfern (Cheektowaga) scored 9 points and grabbed off 5 rebounds to lead the Thunderwolves down the stretch.

Aubrey Halloran led NCCC with 16 points and 9 rebounds as Redfern added 14 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists; Paige Emborsky (Newfane) 14 points, 5 rebounds; Shilah Parker (Cardinal O’Hara) 12 points; Cori Dickson (Cardinal O’Hara) 9 points, 8 assists
