Late surge lifts Elba past Lyndonville

Leading by a narrow 3-2 margin, Elba scored 4 runs in the top of the seventh inning to earn a 7-2 win over host Lyndonville in a Genesee Region League baseball game this morning.
A two-run single by Elisas Lagunas Perez and Bing Zuber’s second double of the day highlighted the big last inning uprising for the Lancers which improve to 12-4..
Earlier, Elba scored once in the second on a double by Zuber and an error and twice in the fifth on an error.
Lyndonville tied the game at 1-1 with a run in the fourth inning as Colton Smith singled and came home on a sacrifice fly by Quinsey McClinsey.
The Tigers stayed close at 3-2 with a run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Jacob Pitcher which followed singles by Smith and Cole Moyle. Smith finished with a total of 3 hits.
