Late rally falls short for Tri County icers
A big third period rally fell just short as the Tri County midget hockey team dropped a narrow 6-4 decision to Perinton today at Fairport.
Trailing 5-1 in the third period, Tri County got goals from Jake Donoghue, Tucker Trask and Cam Smith to slice the deficit to one but could not net the equalizer.
Perinton scored an empty net goal to lock up the win.
Perinton also got off to a fast start jumping out to a 3-0 first period lead and enjoyed a 5-1 advantage at the end of the second period.
Matt Neilsen scored for Tri County in the second period.
Tri County is now 4-11-3 on the season.
