Late pins lift Mustangs to win over Rams

Clutch pins in the final two bouts earned Medina a 39-32 victory over visiting Roy-Hart/Barker in a key Niagara-Orleans League wrestling match this evening.

Trailing 32-27, Medina regained the lead for good at 33-32 on a first period pin by Kole Campbell (170) in 1:44.

The Mustangs then closed out the match and the victory on a first period pin by Conor Crandall (190) in 1:07.

Medina also got off to a fast start building up a 15 point, 27-12, advantage midway through the match on pins by Sawyer Kingsbury (215) in 22 seconds, Luke Duffina (124) in 2:40 and Liam Castricone (131) in 4:50 along with a 7-3 decision win by Brody Fry (285) and a forfeit win.

Roy-Hart though rallied back into a brief 32-27 lead by taking the next four bouts on pins by Luke Fay (145) in 1:43 and Ronam Klug (160) in 3:26 along with a 3-0 decision win by Joel Hickman (152) and a forfeit win.

However, the final two bouts and the match belonged to Medina which improves to 3-1 in N-O action as Roy-Hart/Barker slips to 2-2.

In another N-O match, Wilson (2-2) downed visiting Albion (0-4) 54-14.
