Late goal lifts Tri County icers past Perinton
A goal with just over minute to go earned the Tri County Midget Yellow squad a narrow 5-4 win over Perinton today in a New York Amateur Hockey League game.
Ryan Wells completed his hat-trick by scoring the game winner for Tri County which improves to 6-0 in the league and 11-1-1 overall.
Tri County led 2-1 after two periods as Wells scored once in each of the first two periods.
Third period goals by John Pilon and Ian McGraw kept Tri County even at 4-4 setting the stage for Wells’ last minute game winning tally.
On Saturday, Tri County romped to a 13-3 win over Monroe County.
Tri County took charge early by exploding for seven goals in the first period including two by Patrick Ricker and one each by Max Hapeman, James Hapeman, Zack Geitner, Pilon and Corey Granby.
Keeping the momentum, Tri County tacked on five mores goals in the second period including two each by Chase Froman and Wells and one by Ricker who completed his hat-trick
McGraw netted Tri County’s one third period goal.
Tri County net faces Perinton in a rematch on Saturday.
