Late Attica surge downs Kendall
Up by four in the final period, Kendall saw host Attica use a decisive 6-0 run key a 48-39 victory in a Genesee Region League makeup game this evening.
Tanya Arellano scored a game high 18 points and also grabbed off 16 rebounds to lead Kendall. Taylor Kingsbury added 15 points and Taylor ReQua 6 on two threes for the Lady Eagles.
Kendall jumped out to a 9-5 first quarter lead as Arellano accounted for all the points.
The Lady Eagles maintained a narrow 18-16 lead at the half as Arellano had four points and ReQua a three in the second period.
However, Attica rallied into a 31-29 lead after three quarters. Kendall briefly regained the lead in the final stanza but the Lady Eagles could not hold the advantage as Attica put a lock on the victory at the free throw line.
Kingsbury kept Kendall in the game in the second half scoring a total of 13 points including 7 in the third period and 6 in the fourth.
The loss drops Kendal lot 1-2 in the league and 3-3 overall.
The Lady Eagles next face Wheatland-Chili on January 6.
