Lancers top Purple Eagles for 10th win

Notching victory No. 10, Elba (10-2) bested host Albion (4-7) 64-55 this evening in a non league basketball game.

Jon Boyce scored a game high 24 points, Colton Dillon had 18 and Greyson Huntington 10 to spearhead the attack for Elba as Collin O’Halloran added 8 and Tyler Stevens 4.

Deyonci Farley scored 21, Liam Ward 14 and Bryce Pritchard 11 to lead Albion as Kevin Hillman and Dylan Fox both added 3, Xavier Cornick 2 and Vincent Zona 1.

Elba grabbed a 20-16 lead at the end of the first period as Dillon hit three threes and Huntington one in the early going

Ward answered with three threes and Farley a three, a layup and a rebound bucket for Albion which did lead 16-13 late in the period.

The Lancers upped the lead to 12, 30-18, midway through the second period on two layups by Boyce along with threes by Dillon and Huntington.

Albion though battled back putting together a 10-2 run to close the period, including two layups and a three by Farley, to cut the deficit to four, 32-28, at the half.

The Purple Eagles then closed to within two twice early in the third period, at 32-30 on a jumper by Pritchard and again at 34-32 on a layup by Cornick, but could not pull even.

The Lancers countered with a key 15-5 run to close the period and move out to a 12 point, 49-37, advantage at the three-quarter mark.

Boyce had a three, a layup and a bucket off a steal to highlight that uprising which also included baskets by Huntington, Stevens and Dillon.

A three, a jumper and two free throws by Boyce, along with a rebound basket and a layup by Dillon, upped the Lancers advantage to 17, 60-43, midway through the final period.

The Purple Eagles could get no closer than 10, 62-52, down the stretch.

Pembroke 77, Holley 32

Jumping out to leads of 22-7 after one period and 44-12 at the half, Pembroke went on to defeat visiting Holley 77-32 in a Genesee Region League game.

Jarrod Ludwig scored 18, Noah Godzala 13 and Trevor Vaughn and Jordon Ludwig 11 each to set the pace for Pembroke.

Braden Ferranti scored 8 and Matt Wilson 7 for Holley as Kohl Morgan grabbed off 10 rebounds.

Girls Basketball
Kendall 41, Rochester Prep 18
Brittney Marks scored 14, Jenna Regan 10, Elizabeth Snyder 5 and Katie Pearson 5 to lead Kendall to a 41-18 non league win over visiting Rochester Prep.

Snyder also grabbed off 12 rebounds as Marks and Pearson each had 10.
