Lancers score G-R win over Tigers

Jumping out to a 10-0 lead at the outset, Elba went on to defeat host Lyndonville 56-30 in a Genesee Region League boys basketball game this evening.

Angelo Penna scored a game high 25 points, Connor Scott 14 and Ashton Bezon 12 to lead the way for Elba which improves to 1-1 in the league and 3-2 overall.

Mason Nicholson tallied 9, Jimmy Poler 6, Trenton Muck and Jacob Wilson 5, Colton Smith 3 and Ian Mank 2 for Lyndonville which slips to 0-2, 0-4.

Penna scored 8 in the opening quarter to help Elba grab a 12-5 lead.

The Lancers extended the lead a bit to 10 at 26-16 at the half as Penna scored 6 and Scott and Bezon 4 each in the second period.

Elba then broke the contest wide open by outpointing the Tigers 21-5 in the third quarter to race away to a commanding 47-21 advantage at the three-quarter mark. Penna and Bezon both netted 6 and Scott 5 to lead that Lancers uprising.

Alexander 46, Kendall 43
Trailing 33-29 after three quarters, Alexander rallied with a 17-10 fourth period scoring edge to nip Kendall 46-43 in a G-R game.

Jacek Kwiatkowski and Austin Werth both scored 10 for Kendall which led 23-20 at the half.

Attica 75, Holley 43

Building up a 37-25 halftime advantage, Attica went on to down Holley 75-43 in another G-R contest.

Destin Kuyal led Holley with 18.

The Hawks next visit Medina at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in a non league contest.
