Lakeshore flood watch in effect on Sunday
The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a lakeshore flood watch from 2 a.m. Sunday until 2 p.m. Sunday for Orleans, Niagara, Monroe and Wayne counties.
“The combination of record-high lake levels and a brief period of moderate northeast winds will result in greater wave action and an increase in lakeshore flooding and shoreline erosion along the south shore of Lake Ontario,” the Weather Service said.
The lakeshore flooding will impact the south shore of Lake Ontario with onshore winds creating greater wave action and shoreline erosion, the Weather Service said.
