Lakemen nip Purple Eagles in OT; Rams post win over Tigers
It was the night for overtime action in the Niagara-Orleans League as Wilson also trimmed host Albion 58-53 in OT.
Albion sent the contest into overtime deadlocked at 49-49 on a three by Blake Preston in the final two seconds.
However, Wilson outpointed Albion 9-4 in the extra period to claim the win as Mike Bubar led the way with 4 including a pair of clutch free throws.
Bubar finished with 13, Blake Martin 12, Logan Wolfe 11 and Matt Stolzenberg 9 to lead the Lakemen.
Amari Jones tallied 16, Preston 13 and Javon Jones 12 to pace the Purple Eagles.
Albion led 23-22 at the half and the contest was tied 35-35 at the three-quarter mark.
Albion is now 3-1 and Wilson 1-2 in N-O competition.
Roy-Hart 75, Akron 61
Roy-Hart regained the .500 mark at 2-2 in N-O action by notching a 75-61 win at Akron which slips to 2-1.
Breaking away from a 34-34 half-time deadlock, Roy-Hart outscored Akron 23-8 in the decisive third period to open up a 57-42 lead. Jamel Johnson Jr. scored 13 and Rem Albee 5 to lead that Rams uprising.
Albee then tallied 7 and Johnson Jr. 6 in the final period to keep the Rams in control.
Johnson Jr. finished with a game high 31 and Albee 12. Dan Aquilina added 10 and Justin Terwilliger and Jayden Swygert 6 each.
Ben Gerstung scored 18 and Trace Hill 14 for the Tigers.
