Lakemen nip Mustangs in overtime
Wilson nipped visiting Medina/Lyndonville 2-1 in overtime this evening in a key Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game.
Tyler VanBuren scored the game winning goal for Wilson on a rebound.
Medina/Lyndonville had grabbed a 1-0 lead with 12 minutes to go in the second half as Vassilios Bitsas scored off an assist from Greg Husung.
However, Wilson answered right back six minutes later as Cody Secor scored the equalizer for the Lakemen.
Wilson improves to 4-2-1 while Medina/Lyndonville slips to 5-2-1.
In other N-O action, Akron (5-3) blanked host Albion (2-5-2) 4-0 and Newfane (8-0) downed host Roy-Hart (1-7) 4-1.
Bryan Whitbeck and Tristan Olszewski both scored a goal in each half to spark the attack for Akron.
Chad Gilson scored the three goal hat-trick to lead the way for Newfane.
Jared Thompson netted the goal for Roy-Hart.
