Lakemen nip Mustangs in overtime

Wilson scored in the first two minutes of overtime to nip Medina/Lyndonville 3-2 in a Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game at Vets Park this afternoon.

Marcus Schwarzmueller scored the game winner just 1:53 into the first extra 10 minute period as Wilson regains the .500 mark at 2-2-1 in N-O competition.

The Lakemen also got off to a quick start as Taylor Carmer scored a pair of goals in the first six minutes.

Medina/Lyndonville rallied to cut the deficit to 2-1 before half-time on a goal by Evan Silversmith and then knotted the contest on a second half tally by Kane Flynn but could not gain the lead..

The loss drops the Mustangs to 1-4 in league play.

Roy-Hart 1, Akron 0 OT
Roy-Hart likewise nipped host Akron 1-0 in overtime on a goal by Aidan Bligh 7 minutes into the first extra period off an assist from Aaron Miller.

Kodey Hayes earned the shutout in goal as the quintet of Miller, Andrew Srock, Patrick Sheelar, Matt Scott and Tyler Choate anchored the defense for the Rams.

Roy-Hart is now 4-1 and Akron 2-2 in N-O action.

Kendall 6, Northstar 2
Nate Warters scored 4 goals to lead Kendall to a 6-2 victory over host Northstar in a non league game.

John Rath and Jacob Esposito also each scored a goal for the Eagles and Mickey Gardner had a pair of assists.
