Wilson trims Albion; Roy-Hart tops Barker

Building up a 6-0 lead, Wilson went on to defeat visiting Albion 8-6 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League baseball game.

Wilson built up the big early lead by scoring twice in the first inning and then four times in the second highlighted by a two-run double by Mike Miller.

Miller, who had three hits on the day, also scored what proved to be the game winning run for the Lakemen in the sixth inning as he doubled and came home on an error.

Noah Yernye also had three hits and Tyler Younsett two for the Lakemen.

Albion did cut the deficit to 7-5 by scoring three times in the fifth inning highlighted by a two-run single by Javon Jones but the Purple Eagles could get no closer.

Javon Jones and Amari Jones both had two hits for Albion.

Wilson is now 3-2 and Albion 0-3.

Roy-Hart 13, Barker 1

Undefeated (5-0) Roy-Hart downed visiting Barker 13-1 this evening to move a half a game ahead of idle Medina (4-0) in the N-O title race.

Noah Stern had three hits and Braydon Hy and winning pitcher Thomas Russo III two each to lead the attack for Roy-Hart which broke the contest open with a big 9 run fourth inning. Russo’s hits included a double and triple.

On the mound, Russo allowed no hits and struck out 12 in five innings of work.

Barker is now 0-6.

Starpoint 54, Medina 9

Connor Crandall had a pin and Miles Hartway a decision win for Medina in the Mustangs 54-9 loss at Starpoint.

North Tonawanda 48, Albion 27

Amilcar Morales and Alex Haefner both had pins for Albion in the 48-27 loss at North Tonawnda.
