In a down to the wire thriller, Wilson edged past host Albion 54-52 this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League game.

Two free throws by Connor Seeley with nine seconds remaining provided the margin of victory for Wilson but the outcome wasn’t decided until a last second Albion shot rimmed out.

Wilson jumped out to an 18-9 first period lead but Albion came battling back to cut the deficit to 26-21 a the half and then to move into a 42-39 lead at the three-quarter mark. Kory Reynolds scored 8 and Chase Hall 4 for the Purple Eagles in the third period as Tommy Mattison and Liam Ward both chipped in with a three.

However, Wilson answered with a 15-10 fourth quarter scoring edge, including 11 by Steve Frerichs, to claim the narrow win.

Jonah Miller finished with 16, Frerichs 11, Justin Daul 11 and Seeley 8 for Wilson which improves to 7-4.

Reynolds finished with 12, Mattison 9, Hall and Lamar Chambers 8,  Ward 6 and Tanner Ferris 4 for Albion which finishes the N-O season at 3-9.
