Lake Shore cagers outlast Medina
A big fourth quarter scoring surge powered Lake Shore to an 85-69 win over Medina in the consolation game of the Southtowns Tournament this afternoon at East Aurora.
Trailing 59-56 at the three-quarter mark, Lake Shore rallied to outscore Medina 29-10 in the final stanza to claim the win.
Medina, which trailed by as many as 21, 40-19, in the second quarter, battled back to within 10, 44-34, at the half. The Mustangs then rallied into a 59-56 lead at the end of the third period.
Brian Fry scored 11 and Nate Sherman 6 to lead the Mustangs 25-12 third period scoring surge which was ignited by a 10-0 run at the start of the quarter.
Fry and Sherman both finished with 21 as Jarin Rhim had 11, Tyler Chinn 7, Joe Cecchini 5, Ricky Woods 2 and Dontae Rhim and Christian Drisdom 1 each.
