Lady Tigers win volleyball sectional opener
No. 8 seed Lyndonville scored a straight set 25-21, 25-10, 25-17 victory over No. 9 Genesee Valley/Belfast in a Section V Class D1 opening round volleyball playoff match at Pavilion this evening.
Ashlee Stephens had 25 assists, 4 digs and 3 aces; Jackie Mack 5 kills, 3 aces, 3 blocks and 4 digs and Alyssa Prine 4 aces and 5 assists to lead the way for the Lady Tigers.
Lyndonville will next visit top seeded Avoca-Prattsburg at 6 p.m. Friday in the D1 quarterfinals.
Also in Class D1 Bolivar-Richburg defeated Kendall 25-9, 25-16, 25-23.
In Class C1, Avon downed Holley 25-8, 25-9, 25-16.
