Lady Tigers win to share of G-R Div. 2 title
Lyndonville locked up a share of the Genesee Region League Division 2 softball championship by posting a 12-0 win over visiting Elba this afternoon.
Lyndonville and Oakfield-Alabama finish the G-R season as Division 2 co-champions with identical 12-1 records. The Lady Tigers and Lady Hornets split their two meetings.
Arnie Sturtevant had 4 hits including 2 doubles and a two-run homer, Addison Dillenbeck 2 hits including a solo home run and Alexa Robinson 2 hits to lead the Lyndonville attack.
Sturtevant also picked up the win in the circle allowing 5 hits and striking out 7.
The Lady Tigers finish the regular season with a 17-2 overall record.
In other G-R action, Notre Dame defeated Kendall 19-7 and Pembroke downed Holley 5-1.
Trailing 7-2, Notre Dame rallied with a huge 12 run fifth inning to key the win.
Teagan Shaw had 2 hits for Kendall.
Skylar Gallagher had 2 hits including a double for Holley as Madison Bonacci registered 11 strikeouts in the circle.
