Lady Tigers win G-R volleyball opener

Lyndonville opened defense of its Genesee Region League Division 2 volleyball title with a 25-17, 21-25, 25-14, 27-17 home court victory over Wheatland-Chili this evening.

Ashlee Stephens served up points 1-5 and 14-15, including 3 aces, and Addy Dillenbeck points 17-19 with two aces to spark Lyndonville in the opening set.

Wheatland-Chili though knotted the match with a four point win in the second set.

Lyndonville regained the lead for good by taking the third set as Stephens scored points 1-5, Katelynn Breeze 15-19, including three aces, and Shaffer points 23 and 24.

The Lady Tigers then closed out the match with a win in the fourth set as Shaffer scored points 7-9, and Addy Dillenbeck 21-23 with two aces. Lorelei Dillenbeck polished off the set and match winning point with a spiking kill.

Addy Dillenbeck finished with 8 aces, 7 kills and 8 digs, Jocelyn Mack 3 kills and 4 blocks, Shaffer 4 aces and 5 digs and Lorelei Dillenbeck 3 kills.

In a non league match, Akron downed Kendall 25-22, 25-11, 25-14 as Ashlee Henning had 8 kills and 6 aces and Elise Logan 6 kills and 2 aces.

Haley Shaffer readies to dig out a service return for Lyndonville.
