Lady Tigers top Lady Raiders for first win

Snapping a season long seven game losing streak, Lyndonville downed visiting Barker 45-23 this evening in a non league girls basketball game.

Aubrey Lewis scored a game high 17 points to lead the Lyndonville attack as Alecia Hinkson added 10, Makenzie Muck 9, Anna Lewis 4, Abi Rodriguez 3 and Stacey Buckland 2.

Gabby Baker acored 6, Haley Brown 5, Emily Annable and Kylie Miller 4 and Serena Harris and Casey A’Harn 2 for Barker.

Leading by a narrow 12-10 margin early in the second quarter, Lyndonville began to pull away by closing the period with a 12-4 run.

Hinkson hit a three while Aubrey Lewis had a jumper and a layup and Buckland a jumper during that stretch as the Lady Tigers opened up a 24-14 halftime advantage.

Keeping the momentum, Lyndonville quickly upped the lead to 14, 28-14, at the outset of the third period on layups by Muck and Aubrey Lewis.

The Lady Tigers maintained an 11 point, 32-21, advantage at the three-quarter mark and then won going away down the stretch outpointing the Lady Raiders 13-2 in the final stanza.

Threes by Hinkson and Aubrey Lewis highlighted that late surge which also included buckets by Anna Lewis and Muck.

Medina game postponed

The Maritime Charter at Medina non league game was postponed until January 25.
